Anybody murder anyone lately? Embark on a new romance? Find a new way to tell an old story?
This has been an interesting week for me. Thanks to some very flattering and well publicized reviews, books are selling. When books sell, apparently Amazon takes notice, and has started promoting. Goodreads, too, put my book in an email blast to past purchasers of my stuff. I’m jazzed.
I have to give a huge shout out to author and friend Kate Douglas, who so loved Paulie & Friends that she went WAY out of her way to promote the books to her own readership. Her fans are many, diverse and apparently open-minded. When Kate blabbed about Paulie in her newsletter, sales started happening, and I’m so very humbled and grateful. Kate, by the way, is an incredible writer and deserves those masses of followers!
Sandy Nawrot, reader and blogger extraordinaire in Florida, is a past fan and she took a chance on Paulie, too. I’m so tickled with her stellar review, and the fact that she claims she’s rarely surprised at anything and this book surprised her. Sandy doesn’t pull any punches; she was quite candid in her review, and again I find myself blushing and so appreciative.
I’m trying some new things for promotion, finding more inexpensive and pinpointed opportunities. Have discovered many things that do not work! I never thought 20 years ago I’d still be doing this. I thought I’d either be a big name author or have given up completely by now. Ha!
