Anne Carter

Pen name for author Pam Ripling

“I’ve been a storyteller since 7th grade, when I began dreaming up romance stories to tell my younger sister at bedtime.” Raised in Southern California where she, her husband and three children make their home, Anne runs a small bookkeeping business when she is not fleshing out the next scene to her current book.

Finding the time to write has been her biggest challenge. Stories fly in a holding pattern waiting to be typed out. Growing up a few miles from Hollywood was a great influence, one of the results of which was the writing of StarCrossed Hearts. “Yes, I was—and still am—a teenybopper at heart. I [with my school friends] used to hang out at the studio gates on weekends just hoping for a glimpse, maybe an autograph!”

Recently, writing under her “other” name–Pam Ripling–Anne ventured into teen fiction with the release of Locker Shock! published by Quake. “Having raised two teenaged boys, writing middle grade fiction seemed like a natural. After significant nagging on the part of fans, a follow up to LOCKER SHOCK is the works. OLD ENOUGH will focus on Ben’s friends Zack and Alyssa, and will deal with new problems at Midland School.

Romance remains her favorite. She shies away from category romance, edging her stories more toward “women’s romantic fiction.”Her first published e-book, In Too Deep, was an immediate success, published by Wings ePress, Inc., in both e-format and as a trade paperback.

May, 2003:  “I am so excited!  A Hero’s Promise, which is the sequel to StarCrossed Hearts, just won the prestigious GOLDEN WINGS AWARD, which is presented by Wings ePress to the ‘one book that the Senior Editor of each department feels best exemplifies wonderful story telling ability, great characterization and exceptional writing skills’.”

Check back for updates!

May, 2009: Just in! Echelon Press has just agreed to publish CAPE SEDUCTION! More info coming soon, but look for this second in the lighthouse mystery series in Spring, 2010!

June, 2009: Exciting news! My L.A.-based short story, Just Like Jay, has just been selected for publication in the upcoming Sisters in Crime/LA anthology, “Murder in La La Land.” Of over 60 submissions, only 12 were chosen for this latest edition of Los Angeles centered crime mysteries! Am I thrilled, or what?

Alyssa Montgomery

Alyssa Montgomery has always been a huge fan of writing. When she was in elementary school, she used to write short stories for her friends and classmates (and this was because they would ask her to as well).

Her current favorite genre of book, both to read and to write, is the paranormal. She is, however, beginning to branch out into romantic suspense for those readers who prefer to be sitting on the edge of their seats, waiting to find out whether or not the heroine will receive her kiss, and if the hero will survive!

Alyssa’s greatest inspiration would have to be her aunt, who is also a published author. She showed Alyssa that a little perseverance can go a long way.

When she’s not busy writing, she loves traveling and hanging out with her friends. She’s also a bowler and an avid scrapbooker, not to mention a tireless campaigner for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life!
