I have so many songs I just absolutely love! Of course I have been told to be a hopeless romantic. As such, it may not come as a surprise that I love romantic songs. One of my favorite songs lyrics in that genre is A Beautiful Mess by Jason Mraz. (You can check out its lyrics here: http://www.metrolyrics.com/a-beautiful-mess-lyrics-jason-mraz.html.) It's a romantic song, but more than just that, it's fabulously subtle. Most importantly however, it's honest. He spells out love without using overused words like, 'I love you,' or affectionate terms such as 'baby'. I've always admired Jason Mraz for the clever lyrics he comes up with, but when I heard A Beautiful Mess, I instantly fell in love with it. It's just a very special song for me because he sings about my definition of real love, which is not only accepting one's flaws, but learning to love them and being willing to journey through it together. Oh, it may all be a 'mess,' but with love and commitment, it is a beautiful mess. I love it!

I'd never heard that version! Very cool. I love Bryan Ferry, and I don't know anyone else who knows him. "These Foolish Things" is a favorite. Also, "The Best Days of Our Lives" - I think it's technically by Roxy Music. Cheers!

Also thanks to Marilynne S., who posted one of her fave lyrics: "May I have this dance, for the rest of your life? Will you be my partner every night? When we're together it feels so right. May I have this dance, for the rest of my life." I have a thought, maybe Kenny Rogers? No, wait. Not Kenny. Must think on this one.

My nephew guessed my favorite might be from the Grateful Dead. Not that far off, Sean. I'm still part Deadhead at heart. "Easy to Love You" was very romantic, sung by Brent Mydland. RIP, Brent.

My DIL suggested Rob Thomas. Hmmm... Rob is definitely coming up soon. Stay tuned!

It definitely is a whole different sound! I agree, I absolutely LOVE music. It has been a huge part of my life since I was a wee one. I'm going to love this whole new perspective on your blog!
